on the road...
currently listening to time after time - tuck & patti.
exactly one week after i set foot on KL soil, i'm leaving,,,once again. stayed 'in cognito' the entire one week till today when i 'appeared' to society again when i visited my beloved 1st KL BB friends at the very same place i used to spend all my Saturday afternoons - Youth Center, Wesley Methodist Church KL. sadly, many of my usual gang weren't there, most of them are either away studying overseas or out-of-KL, or they're working. everyone has grown. both ckw n cht are now wearing the blue sash already - two staff-sergeant chan's. and we also have sgt tai yh n sgt yong sy...both of which were under my care while i was still squad leader of squad glasgow (formerly squad A2 when i first adorned the navy blue uniform. looking back, our squad really has produced many leaders in the company. since the days of yow.ky, to lai.ec, then wong.kf, yap.et, d.chan, myself, chan.ht, tai.yh, yong.sy...in order of being first promoted. the list probably goes on, but i have yet to know the younger ones..haha. i feel old) i was lucky today to meet capt.cheong again today. he's like this fatherly figure to most boys of my time...supporting us at all our company activities as well as inter-company competitions such as band n drill during pesta, speaking of which...PESTA 2006 will be hosted by KL state! yay! anyway, capt.cheong was expressing how happy he is to see former Boys coming back to serve in the BB because it's really a waste to see people just graduate from BB and not pass on the experiences and lessons they gathered during their time with the brigade to the younger generation. quite true. i was just discussing with ng.yz about having the right attitude when serving in the brigade, especially as adult helpers and officers. if not, we'll find ourselves getting tired easily, feeling as though helping out is a burden and not a joy, and who knows we might just lose sight of the meaning of BB altogether. ahhh...made an agreement with et that both of us will do our best to help out whenever we return home for holidays =)
recently, there was a big hoo-ha about spm top scorers not being offered the presigious PSD scholarships. well, although i think it is perfectly alright to invite all the country's top scorers for a tea-session with the PM, i feel that that session may send out wrong messages to those invited that they'll be confirmed being awarded a scholarship. psd initially saying no but later greed when pressured by media. y dun they just stand by their decision? they change decision just days after papers say abt the case of 5 top scorers not getting schlareship. ppl nowadays think good grades secure a s'ship, n getting a s'ship means success in life. sigh.
tried blender at home. smoothie. fun time making it with dad. i learnt from tv that you can make peanut butter by just blending peanuts.. add walnut to add more flavor. the heat from the blender will extract the peanut oil out...making a rich spread! learnt thatt some ppl blend the jap ginger pickle to be used as garnish or dip-sauce. that's a really cool recipe.
frienemy, chi n malay, sometimes we just can't tahan them, talk so many bad things behing their back, then sometimes we still treat some of them nice.
